In response to Cajunsr1 [99% (631x)] Club+ member: Silver  :
hey cousin alf,
took my wife out to a mexican restaurant last night for her birthday dinner. and had some fresh salsa with tomatos from mexico probably. but it sure was good. and the other dishes too. actually, much of the winter produce comes from florida where i live, grown in hot houses. then in the spring, the local farms will start all the summer veggies. much of the fruit is imported from chile right now. or other south american farms.
later gator,
cajunsr.

In here we have them from Spain, Italy, Greece, Marocco... Glas or plastic covered grown, taken green from the field or from their plastic box (most meanwhile don't even see soil). The taste in most cases is like that: plastic. For the salsa they will use canned stuff like I told you, the taste is a lot better. Fruits from Chile we have as well - but I really don't want to know, what they did with them, some years I bought prunes - outside like painted, inside green and hard. I just kept them in kitchen and waited...and waited...and waited. After 2 months they were ok inside - and one day later they turned bad. I had a closer look, but I could not find any brand name of the chemical factory...

YUM fresh salsa...key to that is fresh cilatro...we have a REAL Mexican restaurant here...only hires there own people and they are brought in from down south. They have done really very well here. It is definitely not Taco Bell food. The hubby enjoys his Corona there.

Farming itself in our area is big on Potatoes then Corn...there are a number of large Cabbage & Cauliflower farms. The Northeast part of our county is almost all Concord Grapes. (Welches is out there)

When I was in Quebec, Canada last summer I was suprised at the HUGE amount of apple orchards...they were everywhere. Likely too darn cold up there for much else...that and Maple Syrup. (Yum)

You guys now have me hungry for fresh green beans.

OH, I did file a dispute resolution for the individual in China. I also had an individual I contacted on the where abouts of my items...he said he had not got paid...well I have records of him getting paid via Paypal on Feb 6th he obviously was not paying attention...I even paid him Paypal fees! Sent him back a note with a copy of the amount and invoice and said please send my daughters stuff now.

I don't know about you but I keep a journal book of my buyers When, Where, What they bought and all there contact info. It's worth it in the end. Especially when you are not organized, like I am myself!

Warm Regards,
Christine

Green beans? Hm, try to cook them, afterwards get a pan, a GOOD piece of butter and fry them - adding some panade... But take care, because of the butter I would not call it diet... ;)
Cauliflower you can prepare same way.

No need for a journal book in here, I'm not selling that much - and brain is still working good enough e.g. still to remember crab eaters buying souvenir sheets from Portugal for a friend. Anyway, I guess, that it's best to treat buyers the way you'd like to be treated by sellers. And if a seller does not act like I would like it - I will never buy there again, there is enough similar stuff all around the world. :D

Next task for me around miniatures will be something like this - since more than a year I'm trying to get a "shop" for this kind of stuff, let's see, if the changes I was asking for will be done next time...

hi chris,
you go girl. this guy ain't got a leg to stand on if you did what you did. the problem is getting your money back from PAYPAL, if he doesn't deliver the goods. i don't know if you have that money back guarantee offer if you use your credit card or not. anyway, i hope things work out ok. as for the green beans, i like my stir fried with some soy sauce. my daughter in law is filipino and she sures cooks up some wonderful dishes using oriental green beans. so between the mexican, cajun, and filipino, i am in hog heaven. this ol' coon ass is eatin' good in the neighborhood. :applause:

 Ok, those are absolutely yummy looking. Strawberries are my favorite!

Also Cajun, as far as my buddy who has yet to figure out he has been paid for the Sleeping Beauty stamps for my daughter...I kept copies in my files of his letter & my response :deal: everything should be okay and Paypal will be notified if he doesn't respond.

Oh the ROCK hound pictured below, has decided that collecting stamps will be fun too, that's why I made two albums. Actually this is from the pow wow back "home"...and if we get back there this year we will stop by Herkimer to go hunting Herkimer diamonds...that is a good time.

Well, you will just find a few in here. My own collection is "a little" bigger - and some I will NOT sell. But on the other hand I am fascinated by that stuff and it would be nice, to fascinate some others too. If so, it will help the artists as well, I told you, what problems they have with copies. Of course I would like to buy ALL of their stuff and keep ALL for myself - but that will not be possible, I fear... :crying2:

hey alf,
couldn't find any of them alaskan king crabs for a big coon appetite? or snow crabs, one of my favorites? ;) looked at your minatures, very impressive indeed. if i tell my coon cousins, they might do a little midnight raid on the store, and 'eat' up your profits. we'll leave you the flowers though. we only like veggies. :D i would order some but i have too many young little hands at the moment with 3 granddaughters. and the little one at 9 months might choke on one. she puts everything into her mouth.

and chris,
i hope that was not one of my cousins who gave his life for the little girl's attire. i am appalled, her wearing fur. :o i may have to call PETA. :crying2:  ;) :cop: :D please say it is faux fur. but if it was that weasel Ralph down the creek, it is ok. he ate too many of my frogs anyway.

Um, no unfortunately it's not faux fur...it's a silver fox tail...not sure he'd be eatting your frogs or not, lol. Your French relatives did lots of trapping for fur up in Canada.

You will laugh though after we were up in Northern Vermont we crossed into Quebec and went down the St Lawrence Seaway to Ontario where the Queens Highway meets Alexandria Bay, NY...as we were literally crossing the big bridge and had exited the custom station, within 50 yards or so there was a dead red fox in the middle of the road. :( Abby about about ripped her head off looking at it and hollared "Stop dad! It still has a tail!" :o I'm sure customs would have loved to have seen my husband out there lopping a tail off roadkill. :o Sorry we don't own a coon tail...only fox. I have a porkie skull...now that's a ucky story, lol. ;)

:D :D :D

It's only the skull of that Quill Pig I have not the prickers. We USE to have a an over population of them. We have a camp ontop of one of the Allegheny Mountains. State Wildlife guys brought in what are called fishers...a really mean looking weasel thing. They are one of the few predators of porcupines. Well, they like water so they did us no darn good...they headed down hill to the Allegheny.

Hence the Quill Pigs came up hill and multiplied. PLUS they were illigal to shoot....well only if ya got caught I guess. Well we had porkies chewing the camp, shed, ate the garden hose, ate the handle off my cooler, ate the bottom out a wash basin, the bottom of a huge jug of kids bubbles. (that had to be gross when the soap came out) ate the tops of 4 maple trees which inturn got blight. They will eat your brake lines of your car. So we irradicated about 8 of them one season ON our property only. Well most we take into the woods on the ATV and they become lunch likely for the coyotes. One stayed dead in the pines behind our camp. Next weekend we went down and all that was left was the skull quite literally picked clean for the most part. Well I get a bright idea... :o ...I picked up the skull on a stick...and put it into an old sauce pan and boiled the daylights out of it...the hubby was NOT happy with this science experiment  . I then put it in bleach water & bleached it in the sun...not sure what to do with it now but I have a porkie skull. LOL.

So that is your crazy cousin the Yankee/Injun

Hello Chris,

just do it! You can't loose anything (beside a little time). If you suggest it as well to the other members of your artist ring and to your buyers, it will be a good alternative - and a lot less auction fees for you. ;)
Beside, I still have some doubts, if it's moneybookers to be blamed, I guess it's because of US regulations like "gambling law" and some other jokes...

couldn't find any of them alaskan king crabs for a big coon appetite? or snow crabs, one of my favorites? ;) looked at your minatures, very impressive indeed. if i tell my coon cousins, they might do a little midnight raid on the store, and 'eat' up your profits. we'll leave you the flowers though. we only like veggies.

:crying2:  ;) :cop: :D please say it is faux fur. but if it was that weasel Ralph down the creek, it is ok. he ate too many of my frogs anyway.
later gator,
cajunsr.

Hello crab eater,

no need for your cousins, an innocent mouse would be enough (beside some kind of insects). I told you, what material it is, so some species seem to enjoy it for dinner...
Guess you'll have enough trouble to protect your stamps right now - little hands are FAST hands... :dunno:

Hello Chris,

just do it! You can't loose anything (beside a little time). If you suggest it as well to the other members of your artist ring and to your buyers, it will be a good alternative - and a lot less auction fees for you. ;)
Beside, I still have some doubts, if it's moneybookers to be blamed, I guess it's because of US regulations like "gambling law" and some other jokes...

I think I will this weekend coming up. I actually have some different things I would like to list...I deal with three auction sites now and I have "certain" things on each of them. I create more spiritual, New Age stuff for one...then there's "the biggie" and that one gets certain things because of my regular customers...and ones I wouldn't list or don't sell go to a strictly art one. But I have some collectibles..sports and stuff I think I will try on here. I have a triple signature signed print of Olympic Champion wrestler Bruce Baumgartner (local guy) another one of his team mates Lou Rosselli and the artist signed as well. So I think I will check it out. I appreciate the support! :applause:

Oh the Sleeping Beauty guy admitted he was wrong ( accidents happen) and we should be getting them this week. So that is good :D

Well, I have to mail out 4 packages of art so I got to run...take care... :whitewine: ...I'll talk to you guys a bit later.

Christine

Some doubts about Mr. Baumgartner - but it's free to be tried, so...
I'd just try it with 1 or 2 things of each kind, before I came here, this kind of miniature did not exist in here as well, we're still having a look where to place category best. As long as there are no listing fees, I don't have any problem to try things - if there are other collectors, it would be nice, but if there are not, it's as well no problem. :D
